Heroes Battlegrounds Full Throttle Guide

A current Full Throttle guide for the Jet Engine rework, covering mobility decisions, documented move names, confirms, defense, and returner checks.

Full Throttle is a high-mobility character whose Jet Engine rework is explicitly named in the current Heroes Battlegrounds description. That makes old muscle memory the biggest hazard for returning players. Current community references associate the reworked kit with Recipro Assault, Turbine Drive, and Sound Breaker, including ground or air behavior for some actions. Confirm the live labels and variants in your HUD before treating any route as current.

The reworked character is most effective when movement produces a useful angle. Speed without an exit simply delivers you into a block punish. Learn where each action ends, then add pressure.

Rework check before fighting

Join a fresh public server, select Full Throttle, and inspect every base move label. Use each move on open ground with no target, then against a blocking partner, and finally on hit. Note whether jumping changes the move, whether the camera follows correctly, and whether the target is launched, carried, or left standing.

Do not map an old move to a new button solely because the animation looks similar. A rework can change startup, travel distance, armor, recovery, or cancel rules while preserving the character theme. If your server’s HUD disagrees with this page, trust the server and rebuild the drill around its move list.

Mobility with an exit plan

Use ordinary dashes to adjust the approach before spending a character movement move. A diagonal entry often gives a better camera angle than rushing directly through the target. After contact, identify whether Full Throttle ends beside, behind, or beyond the opponent. Your next decision depends on that final position.

Keep one mobility option available whenever possible. In a crowded arena it can avoid a third party; in a duel it can chase a recovery dash or escape a block punish. Repeatedly crossing through an opponent without confirming the facing direction is a common way to lose the camera and waste the rework’s speed.

Current move-name drills

Community descriptions present Recipro Assault as a close, gear-driven attack, Turbine Drive as a movement tool with situational variants, and Sound Breaker as a major speed-based action. Test those roles rather than assuming exact damage. Begin with an M1 confirm into one move. Then repeat with the target blocking and learn where you must stop.

Next, test the air version of any move the HUD supports. Start from a neutral jump, not from a complicated route, so you can see its real direction and landing recovery. Only after both ground and air actions are consistent should you connect them. The Full Throttle combos page gives short routes designed for this rework-first process.

Neutral and pressure

Full Throttle can threaten sudden distance changes, but the threat is strongest when you do not spend it immediately. Walk or dash into the edge of range, wait for the opponent’s block or attack, then choose the move that reaches the opening. If they hold block, reposition instead of completing a canned string.

When you land a starter, use a compact extension and observe the target’s recovery. Avoid sending them far away with one move and then throwing a close action at empty space. Near walls, test from several angles because the reworked travel can end differently when character models collide with scenery.

Defense and recovery

The official computer controls still make F block and Q dash; Q while ragdolled performs a recovery dash. Full Throttle’s character speed does not replace these universal tools. Block first when an opponent has the clear turn, then punish a missed attack with the shortest confirmed option.

If your movement move is blocked, do not keep pressing the memorized follow-up. Check whether you have real recovery or are still punishable. In a mirror match, watch the endpoint instead of chasing the opening animation; the endpoint tells you where to turn and whether an M1 can reach.

Ultimate habits

Activate ultimate with G only after the meter is ready. Give yourself enough space to read the transformed move list, especially on the first post-rework session. Test travel and recovery before attempting a long sequence, because ultimate animations can move Full Throttle farther than the base kit.

Use the power window to force a confirmed engagement rather than spending it entirely on pursuit. If a target disengages, cut the angle with ordinary movement and keep a transformed tool ready for their dash. In a public fight, avoid locking into a long animation while another opponent is already approaching.

Returner mistakes to avoid

Do not assume the old combo starter, the old air conversion, or the old finisher threshold. Do not mash a movement move because the rework feels faster. Do not copy exact cooldowns from footage recorded before August 31. Do not practice only against a stationary target. And do not test in a server that may have remained open across the patch.

A better returner loop is one move, one confirm, one defensive answer, then one short route. Once that works against a moving partner, add wall and air branches.

Current-source notes

The official Heroes Battlegrounds page confirms “FULL THROTTLE REWORKED” in the live update copy. The official Full Throttle virtual event describes the Jet Engine rework and an August 29–September 5 promotion window. Move names and strategic roles are community-documented and require live HUD confirmation. No fixed damage, cooldown, armor, or guaranteed-combo claim is presented as an official value.
