The Prototype is a Heroes Battlegrounds boss activity with an officially confirmed connection to Warp Portal. The Unlocked Warp Portal badge says to defeat The Prototype for a chance to obtain the character and says the chance improves with each win. A separate Prototype Slayer badge confirms the encounter achievement. Neither badge publishes an exact spawn time, base chance, increase per win, guaranteed count, or contribution threshold.
This guide focuses on a repeatable fight and a clean post-result check, not a fabricated probability table.
Find the current encounter
Join the official root place and watch the live interface or arena notice for The Prototype. Community sources describe scheduled or server-dependent appearances, but timing is patch-sensitive. Trust the current countdown, announcement, or portal shown by your server.
If the server has been running across an update, rejoin before concluding that the encounter is missing. In a private server, verify that the boss can appear and that one completion awards the expected result before planning repeated attempts.
Choose a boss-ready character
Bring a fighter whose base kit you know. You need one safe damage confirm, one ranged or mobile contribution action, a reliable block response, and a way to reposition. Do not choose a newly unlocked character solely for theoretical damage if you cannot keep the camera on a moving boss.
Build the ultimate meter before the fight when the current server flow allows it. Save G activation for a targetable phase and a position where the transformed moves can land. Keep at least one movement option instead of spending every cooldown immediately.
Read attacks and preserve uptime
Watch the boss animation and arena effect before attacking. Move out of obvious danger, then return with a short confirmed sequence. Long cinematic routes can miss when The Prototype changes state or can leave you exposed to another attack.
Maintain camera distance so the full model and nearby players remain visible. If the boss moves, use ordinary dash before committing a character chase. A living player who contributes throughout the encounter is more reliable than a burst attempt followed by a long defeat or reset.
Public-server contribution
In a shared fight, avoid pushing the boss or your own character into a position that disrupts every other player when an alternative exists. Attack from a readable angle and stop when a dangerous cue begins. Community guides discuss contribution and placement, but exact reward thresholds are not public official facts.
Track your own observable result. Note whether you survived, whether the defeat completed, what the result screen said, and whether a mastery panel or character selector changed. Do not convert a placement screenshot into a universal percentage.
Warp Portal reward check
After a successful defeat, remain through the reward sequence. Read any message, check for the Unlocked Warp Portal badge, and open the character selector. If Warp Portal is not yet available, the official badge wording supports another valid win with improving chance; it does not reveal how much improvement occurred.
If the badge appears but selection remains locked, close the menu, reset, or rejoin a fresh root server. The Warp Portal character guide covers post-unlock kit testing.
Mastery progress checks
The live game description says players fight bosses and unlock mastered versions, and community mastery references often point toward The Prototype. If your active quest names the boss, record mastery progress before the fight and compare it after the result. Keep the required character selected if the panel says so.
Do not assume the same result gives an identical amount to every character or placement. If no credit appears, verify task state, contribution, server type, and character before another attempt.
Private-server use
A private server can provide a cleaner view of spawn behavior and reduce interference. Creating a Roblox private server and owning the optional PS Commands pass are separate actions. Owner controls do not guarantee boss rewards or mastery credit.
Run one controlled attempt and check the result. If progress counts, a coordinated group can assign survival and damage roles. If it does not, return to a normal public server rather than repeating an invalid farm.
Failed-attempt review
If you were defeated early, identify the animation you missed and practice the movement response. If your ultimate whiffed, check targetable timing and endpoint. If the result gave no visible reward, distinguish an unsuccessful boss defeat from an unlucky Warp Portal roll. If progress failed, compare the exact task wording.
Keep a small attempt log with server date, completion, result wording, badge state, selector state, and mastery change. That supports decisions without pretending to know hidden chance.
Current-source notes
The official Heroes Battlegrounds page confirms bosses and mastery as core features. Official Roblox badges confirm The Prototype, the chance-based Warp Portal reward, and improvement with wins. Spawn timing, boss health, contribution thresholds, mastery percentage, starting chance, and pity increments are not stated in those records and require current in-game observation.
